1. The Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Marblehead, Inc. (CSFM) is a private, non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing need-based financial aid to students who have graduated from Marblehead High School and/or who live in the Marblehead community. CSFM is a chapter of Dollars For Scholars which is a program of Scholarship America.

2. The Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Marblehead was founded in 1987 by a group of concerned citizens and members of the Marblehead High School faculty and administration. The essential motivating factor was the limited availability of scholarship funding for students within the local community.

3. CSFM’s purpose is to raise scholarship funding through current giving and the establishment and maintenance of a permanent endowment. Award selection is accomplished through an Awards Committee comprised of members of our Board of Directors and coordinated with the High School awards process. Scholarship grants range from $500 to $7,000 and are awarded to high school seniors, advanced standing students and continuing education candidates. CSFM also provides award candidates for other scholarship funds not under its direct control.

4. The award history is as follows:

5. The Directors of CSFM believe that we as a group can make a difference in the life of our community. It is incumbent upon us as citizens to provide the next generation with educational opportunities. To the extent that financial need is an obstacle to this goal, we hope to serve our community well.
